Whatsapp Disappearing Messages
Due to its immense popularity, the developers continuously roll out new and exciting features which make our daily activities easier; voice calls, video calls, stickers, QR code are only some of them.
One of the new features added is disappearing messages. You can also see this feature in other apps such as Snapchat and Instagram. Now WhatsApp is also introducing this feature in their latest update.
To use this in your WhatsApp messenger, you only have to enable your chat’s disappearing feature. Once you do that, WhatsApp will automatically delete your new messages after seven days. This setting won’t affect the messages that you might have previously sent or received in the conversation.
If you are part of an individual chat, either user can switch disappearing messages on or off. But in a group chat, only group admins can switch disappearing messages on or off.

This feature might not go well with tech-savvy people. There are people who use WhatsApp to store information and to maintain a record. To these people, this feature can create big problems. WhatsApp has been a trusted app for sharing confidential information or simple personal messages. End-to-end encryption provides a secure and reliable way to communicate.
But What About The Criminals?
There are a lot of crimes happening nowadays. However, having a record of the chats and history of individuals has always helped bring justice.
WhatsApp has played a vital role in solving a lot of crimes. WhatsApp knows the ins and outs of everyone who uses it. The chat history of an individual contains all the secrets of the user. Activation of this feature means that it would get difficult for police officials to track messages. Hence, it might create a lot of problem in this sector. Criminals might use this feature as temporary disposable sim cards. This feature may also act as great way of escaping the security radar. This feature might change the entire user activity on WhatsApp. It will be interesting to see how it changes the activity of the user.
What is the Solution?
One way to solve this issue is to hide the disappeared messages in an encrypted form. In this way, a normal user can not see the messages after seven days. But, the authorities can by decoding the encryption. This can help investigate any criminal activity that may have occurred using this feature.
