In what could be a major embarrassment to the Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump, a series of voicemail messages featuring him have been hacked and released online by the hacktivist group Anonymous. Donald Trump is often quoted making controversial statements on deporting immigrants without documents and preventing Muslims from entering the US for which he has been criticised by several groups and media outlets.
But, a series of leaked voicemails can play the spoilsport for Trump as well as MSNBC, the news network, some of the executives of which can be heard in the voice mails talking to Donald Trump. Some of these messages date back to 2011 – 2012. In one such voicemail, a woman who has been identified as T. Hall can be heard leaving a message for Trump. She is probably Tamara Hall of MSNBC. In the first message she is heard requesting Donald Trump to help her get an additional discount for purchases from a Gucci store in Manhattan which is located in the Trump tower owned by Donald Trump. It shows her proximity with Trump. In the second message however, she can be heard criticising Trump on opposing President Barack Obama during the 2012 presidential campaign.
In other messages, Donald Trump can be heard being praised by Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, the news anchors with MSBBC. They can be heard praising Trump for what Scarborough now claims to be for a children’s charity. A total of 3 minutes of voicemails have been released by the gossip and news website Gawker. In some of the other messages, Trump can be heard saying that it is easy to deport immigrants without proper documents.
Since the beginning of the Presidential campaign, MSNBC has been featuring Trump more often than any other network. It now seems that the news channel has a soft corner for Trump which is evident from the polite treatments he receives on their television programs. MSNBC is considered to be a liberal news channel but by siding with Trump, a Republican, the news agency might be doing more harm than good.
