Android Lollypop and iOS 8 differences

It has been 8 years when back on June 29 2007 the first
iPhone was launched and since then it has seen 6 generations. The operating
system used in iPhones is iOS and currently it is iOS 8 is the OS used in the
iPhones. The closest competitor to the iPhones are the Android enabled
smart phones offered by several mobile phone manufacturers. Android is an
operating system of Google and is used as the standard operating system in
several of the mobile phone models of top mobile phone manufacturers. Android
has since the beginning given iOS a run for its money.
When it comes to choosing between the two, the users might
consider the functionalities of the two operating systems and based on their
preferences can choose the appropriate operating system.

User Interface
Google has introduced Material Design with Android 5.0 and
is intended to create an impact over the users. Android has a bold interface
and creates a uniform display across the various apps. Apple on the other hand has
incorporated a minimalistic interface in its iOS since iOS 7 and the interface
is highly intuitive, sleekly designed and is clutter free.

Until the previous versions, the notifications on Android
were displayed in the notifications areas and the users could choose from the
specific apps notifications. iOS to the contrary allowed users to have a
customised setting that allows them to view notifications for specific apps in
a specific manner. Users can therefore choose the apps for which the
notifications are to be displayed. With Lollypop, Google has included a
Priority Mode in the Android notification function and hence it is now similar
to iOS.
The above features leave very little to choose between the
two operating systems and individuals used to using one particular operating
system may not move to the other one since they may not finding something new.
However, apps designed for Android can function on iOS but not the other way
round. This could be a constraining factor for iOS.
